I'll try another brand next. My problem is it lasted just over a year - then went dead. The performance was just OK in my car. I used it primarily in my workshop, and it worked well. I think most electronics products should last at least a few years.
There are several options available to hook this unit up to your current car set-up.One really cool thing about this is that you can customize the display color to match your car's dash lights (or another preferable color). I really love this product and if you're an avid XM listener with an older system, I'm sure you will too. Just hit the Memory button to save the info for later. Of course there's going to be a bunch of wires, DUH. I bought the boombox at the same time and it's great for a small room or office.
Never mind the other reviews complaining about "all of the wires.", it's an ACCESSORY UNIT meant to either transmit to a currently installed radio or plug into a tape deck. I went the Sure Connect route with the transmitter stuck on my window antenna and I get great FM reception through my dash unit. Hear a cool song that you'd like to buy. Just make sure you have a clear shot of the southern sky for the antenna and you're good to go. This is a great little unit.
All one needs is about an hour, a little creativity, and some wire tucking skills, and this baby is ready to go (with minimal wires hanging around). No need to try to write the song down while trying to drive.Another great thing about this unit is that you can pull it from your car cradle and drop it into the Delphi boombox (or other home unit) for use in your home.
Easy to install and use-cant be beat. great buy. One of the best XM receivers for under $50. I use the 'sure connect' to listen and it sounds very clear.little if any static when going under overpasses etc.
Well, that was short lived.I made the decision to purchase another one. I had liked it up to that point. But after just one week, the same problem started. The first one worked great for about 6 months. Wow, do I love it. I did get it to turn on and never turned it off.
So I retutned it and got the Inno. I have purchased two of these over the past 8 months. All of a sudden, it decided it no longer wanted to turn on. As I said, I liked it.
I get incredible reception in my car, and am looking forward to grabbing a home kit to use it at home. The controls are intuitive, with presets being easy to navigate and multiple display modes (I could have used less, I hate getting thru the stock ticker and sports one to get back to display #1. The multiple choices for color display is nice plus, as sometimes you feel red, and sometimes you feel purple.
Some clunky user interface is the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars. My friend turned me onto XM, and her receiver has this.
The only thing I really wish this receiver had is the ability to record. I really would like to catch Dylan's show (brilliant, BTW) on my time schedule.Overall, tho, this is a great little radio that serves well, especially for the price.
I am very pleased with this receiver, which is my intro to XM. should be able to turn these off in settings).
I assumed this was a standard thing, but this receiver cannot record, which is a bummer, especially when I get it set up at home.
